Saracens v Leinster @Wembley – Saturday 16th October
Following this week’s announcement that the Heineken Cup fixture against Leinster will be played at Wembley, here is some early notification of the facilities being offered by The Green Man to supporters of both teams.
On offer is a discounted special hotel rate for a two night stay (Friday and Saturday) for £100.00 on a room only basis per room. The room and breakfast option will cost £125.00, and this will include a full English/Irish breakfast served between 8am and 10am. This offer is only available by booking with The Green Man direct.
Discounted parking is available for those not staying in the hotel, charges are £12.50 per car and minibuses at the rate of £20 per minibus. This must be booked through the pub direct (0208 903 1441)
Coach parking is offered free of charge, but must be booked through the pub direct.
The SSA will be running coaches to Wembley, details will be available soon.
The above offers are available to both sets of supporters. They need to quote the Leinster or Saracens supporters clubs when booking rooms or cars.
On Friday 15th October (evening) there will be a Live Irish Band performing and they will probably be back for Saturday as well.
On Saturday 16th October (Match Day) there will be catering available, with a huge hog roasts. There will be 3 outdoor bars as well as the indoor bar facilities. An additional marquee will be set up in the garden to increase the amount of sheltered area outside the pub. There is a half acre garden with a covered patio area that has great views of stadium, as well as the large bar areas and conservatory inside. The pub is having a refurb in September and by the time October comes around, this will mean increased toilet facilities for the men, and therefore less queing.
So for a real pre- and post-match atmosphere have a look at the pub on You Tube on event days and you will see the large numbers that can be accommodated! The YouTube videos mainly show football supporters, so turn off the sound before you watch.
The Green Man is only a 5 minute walk to the stadium (downhill), so it means more drinking time and less walking time for the supporters!
