The Players Q&A Session at Old Albanians last night gave supporters the chance to welcome and interrogate the six new boys who have joined the first team squad for the coming season.

The guys fielded a range of questions about that ‘something special’ that caused them to join Saracens, as well as their expectations for the season ahead. High on their list of reasons for joining was coaching set up, the set of values that the club advocates around the players and their families, and of course, the winning culture that came to the fore last season. Expectation are high as the Premiership and Heineken Cup campaigns get underway rugby and the confidence and determination in the squad to build on last season’s performances is strongly evident.
There’s little doubt about the rugby qualities these guys bring to the squad, but perhaps the biggest surprise of the evening was to discover Kelly Brown’s talent as a singer. The evening concluded with Kelly serenading the room full of supporters with his Meatloaf impression. Now that was something special.
