To kick off a big Heineken Cup day, the SSA was delighted to welcome it’s latest member! The photo shows Saracens’ Chairman Nigel Wray being presented with his membership pack by SSA Chairman Stuart Jones.
We were also delighted to welcome a great, but subsequently disappointed group of Biarritz supporters to a pre-macth gathering at Druids in Watford. They were gracious enough to present the SSA with a plaque to commemorate the fixture. See the photo below; Kat and Julia were on hand to do the honours for the SSA.
A tense 80mins of Heineken Cup rugby was to follow. The game may have lacked the spectacle of a High Vyvyan drop goal (remember that?), but both sets of supporters were treated to a high intensity match, capped by a late penalty from Owen Farrell to seal a 20-16 win for Saracens. Now for Treviso!
