We were also delighted to welcome a great, but subsequently disappointed group of Biarritz supporters to a pre-macth gathering at Druids in Watford.  They were gracious enough to present the SSA with a plaque to commemorate the fixture.  See the

]]> To kick off a big Heineken Cup day, the SSA was delighted to welcome it’s latest member!  The photo shows Saracens’ Chairman Nigel Wray being presented with his membership pack by SSA Chairman Stuart Jones.

We were also delighted to welcome a great, but subsequently disappointed group of Biarritz supporters to a pre-macth gathering at Druids in Watford.  They were gracious enough to present the SSA with a plaque to commemorate the fixture.  See the photo below; Kat and Julia were on hand to do the honours for the SSA.

A tense 80mins of Heineken Cup rugby was to follow. The game may have lacked the spectacle of a High Vyvyan drop goal (remember that?), but both sets of supporters were treated to a high intensity match, capped by a late penalty from Owen Farrell to seal  a 20-16 win for Saracens.  Now for Treviso!

SSA presents an evening with:
Tickets are available for members and non-members. Included in the ticket price will be a the tasting of a selection of wines, hosted by the RFU Wine Club, and a buffet.  There will be time to socialise, to discus wine, rugby and some of the other good things in life.  You will also be able to place orders for wine if you are suitably impressed. However, there is no obligation to purchase.  Ticket prices are : SSA Members £20, Non-member £25.  You can buy your tickets online, but hurry, as numbers are limited.

A Quiz, the Premiership Trophy, and Players!

We would like to invite you to the first SSA social event of year; the annual SSA quiz is to be held on November 30th at Old Albanians RFC, St Albans. Pit your wits against your fellow supporters, just turn up on the night as a team of up to six people, or as individuals, and we will make you in to a team. The bar and kitchen will be open to provide food and drink. There will also be the opportunity to take a pictures with the Premiership Trophy. The fun starts at 7:30, with the quiz kicking off at 8pm. Cost will be £2 for members and £3 for non-members. We look forward to seeing you there.

There’s never been a better time to join the SSA.  Make savings on away travel and SSA Social Events, and look out for ‘Something Special’ later in the season.

]]> First of all,  a big thank you to everyone who stopped by the SSA gazebo at the Season Ticket Holders’ pre-season BBQ.  There was plenty of interest in the travel options to the London Double Header – great value! – so if you’re checking in on the website, take a look here for full details.  Also, welcome to new members of the SSA who signed up at the BBQ;  keep an eye on the website for information about away travel throughout the season,  as well as social events and other SSA activities.

 

Everyone who joined,  or re-joined the SSA up to kick off time at the Esher match was automatically added to a draw for a rugby ball signed by the Saracens squad.  The winning name was drawn by Rhys Gill,  under the watchful eye of Kat,  our Membership Secretary,  whist Rhys Junior kept an eye on the photographer to make sure he didn’t get up to any funny stuff.

More importantly,  the name of the winner is:  Harry Taylor.  So,  Harry,  if you’re reading this,  congratulations,  and we’ll be in touch about delivering your prize.
