Player of the month - September
Welcome to the first of our monthly polls. As we told you last month, this season we will be nominating five players from both the men’s and women’s side onto our shortlist, which you, the members, will vote on via survey monkey. The winners will receive a £50 donation to the charity of their choosing, further helping with our aim to spread the good work that rugby brings to communities causes and charities nationwide. This poll covers the Premiership 7s, Wasps and Sharks for the men and the matches against Bristol Bears and Richmond Rugby for the Women.
First up is Tom Whiteley for his player of the tournament showing at the Premiership 7s. Tom steered his young squad to retain the title with a come from behind performance in the final against old rivals Wasps.
Next up is Rotimi Segun, who carried on his blistering form from the 7s with a brace away at Wasps in the Premiership cup.
From the Women’s Side, SSA’s very own Hannah Botterman has shown some exceptional early season form both home and away scoring tries for fun.
Joined on the list is Jodie Rettie who really impressed the travelling support in Bristol last week.
Last but not least is MacKenzie Carson who caught the eye with a storming performance at home to Richmond.
