Player sponsorship 2017/18

Thanks to your support, the SSA has been able to sponsor a player for the last four seasons. This season, not only are we are able to keep this tradition going but we will be sponsoring two young players.

Our first sponsored player is someone very familiar to the SSA: Joel Kpoku. Although he has been signed-up for the Saracens Academy only this season, Joel has been a member of the SSA for the last year and has helped us at several of our events along with his twin brother. A highly promising lock, Joel follows in the footsteps of other recent home-grown second rows: George Kruis, Maro Itoje and Nick Isiekwe. We often talk about the #sarriesfamily: Joel is very much part of this and we didn't hesitate when the chance came to sponsor him.

Our second sponsored player is new to the club and mainland UK so we are delighted to welcome the Ireland U20 hooker, Tadgh McElroy. A Dundalk native and only 19 years of age, this is a very bold step rarely taken by Irish players but the more we hear, the more excited we are. With the international trio of Schalk Brits, Jamie George and Christoper Tolofua to learn from, big things are expected and we are happy to support Tadgh as much as we can.
